The red oak will mature at 150 years old and can live past 300 years of age! Its acorns will also feed nearby birds, squirrels, and deer — so this tree is definitely for the animal lovers out there. Like the sugar maple, the red oak will provide ample shade and a red foliage in the fall.
4. Eastern Red Cedar – If you have a larger property that receives a ton of sun, the eastern red cedar will thrive. These trees are great for providing a windbreak to protect your home. Anyone who places feeders in their garden to attract birds will love this tree because birds love to build their nests in this dense evergreen foliage.
