Spring is still a few weeks away, but that doesn’t mean you can’t prepare your garden now. In order to help prep your lawn and garden, you’ll need the right tools to get the job done. Here are the different types of pruning tools that you should have in your shed.
- Pruners – The most obvious pruning tool you’ll need is a pair of handheld pruners. In order to prune your plants properly, you need to make a clean cut at the right angle. This gardening tool is extremely sharp and curved perfectly to make precise pruning cuts.
- Loppers – If you’ve ever seen a pair of bolt cutters in a gardening shed, that’s what this bad boy is right here. Loppers are perfect for pruning small branches on bushes and trees that are hard to reach. This is the largest of the pruning tools and will need to be operated with two hands.
- Pruning Saw – When handheld pruners and loppers can’t get the job done, break out the pruning saw. This miniature saw is meant to tackle the thicker branches and tree limbs.
- Shears – There are two types of shears you should have in your arsenal; hand and hedge shears. Hand shears are best for making small cuts on shrubs and bushes with dense greenery, while hedge shears are best for making larger cuts that create a straight edge.
- Electric Trimmers – When you have a decent amount of shrubs, bushes, and trees on your property, trimming their hedges can take a long time. Instead, opt for an electric hedge trimmer to cut down on the amount of time and effort it takes.
Maintaining your property will be a whole lot easier when you have a a few different pruning tools at your disposal.
