5 Fantastic Spots to Experience Fall Foliage in MA

If there’s one thing New England is famous for, besides our fantastic football team, it’s our fall foliage! From Connecticut, all the way up through Maine, the color changing leaves of autumn are a site that families from near and far travel to see each year. So, being from Tyngsboro, we thought it was only right to highlight some of the best spots to experience the bright, colorful scenery right here in Massachusetts.
- William Cullen Bryant Homestead, Cummington: From warm and cheerful, yellow-leaved birches to their sky-high 150-foot evergreens, this fall hot spot has it all. And how could we forget that gorgeous deep red entryway of sugar maples that greets its guests?
- Francis William Bird Park, Walpole: Nothing screams autumn louder than a long entryway lined with bright orange and deep red-leaved beech trees. And as if that’s enough, there a plenty of sugar and red maple trees throughout the park as well.
- Rocky Woods Reservation, Medfield: If family hiking trips are your fancy, Rocky Woods is your ideal destination. With six miles of family-friendly, easy-to-trek terrain, there’s plenty of leaf-looking possibilities for all to enjoy!
- Peaked Mountain, Monson: Get a taste of fall foliage beyond the Massachusetts borders, with panoramic views from the top of Mount Wachusett! You’ll be able to see all that Peaked Mountain has to offer, as well as a clear view of Vermont’s Green Mountains.
- Ravenswood Park, Gloucester: Bringing Fdo along for the family vacation? No problem! This popular fall destination welcomes four-legged friends and family members with open arms. Plus its network of old carriage roads, woodland trails and over 600-acres of foliage make it the perfect place for adventuring.
