Plan the Perfect Vegetable Garden
Wouldn’t it be nice to have fresh, homegrown fruits and veggies without having to go to the grocery store? Well, with these simple guide to starting your own vegetable garden, you can!
Select your seeds and determine your needs. If you’re a first timer, it’s best to avoid being overly ambitious. Make sure you don’t go plant-happy! Consider the fruits and veggies you use on a regular basis and start there. You can always add more variety as you go. Remember, tomatoes, peppers and squash will keep producing, while carrots, radishes and corn only produce once, so you may need to plant more at the start.
Once you’ve determined the seeds you’d like to plant, you’ll have to consider how much space your garden will require. Remember, staying small is not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, you’ll usually see more progress from a 10×10, well-tended space, than a larger, weed-ridden one.
Choose your location and prepare accordingly. Now that you know what you want to grow and how much space you’ll need, there are a few other factors to keep in mind when pinning down a specific spot for your garden.
Now just plant, tend and wait for your efforts to pay off! And while you’re tending to your new garden, if you notice that your lawn could use from TLC as well, just give Turf Unlimited a call.
